The Alliance Multiped AMS-172-C "Hannibal" , is the Alliance's leading "Field Command and Control Hardshell". The AMS-172-C is designed for forward combat operations duty and limited combat (the "C" represents control ). The Hannibal is capable of limited ranged combat , but normally relies on it's escort for heavy fighting.
The Hannibal is shown in its C&C loadout, and is equipped with a ground level multi-tracking sensor blade ( top), a gravity wave/ flux detector ( canister on upper hull ),and all the other sensors provided to the HS series mechs. The AMS-172-C is armed with twin mounted 50mm vulcan close-quarters cannons ( located on the mandible/arms ), a Ligan Armory tri-barrel medium ranged beam cannon ( mounted right of the chin sensors ), a .50 caliber anti-infantry rifle ( at the commanders position)and two 8 silo heavy RPG launchers ( located on the shoulder pylons) with 48 per pod.
The "Hannibal" shown belongs to the 21st Infantry Corps 3rd Squadron of the 1st Battalion.
